The Australian share market finished at a new closing high following a Wall Street relief rally after in-line inflation data kept US rate cuts on the table later this year.

Mining and tech stocks paced a rally that lifted the ASX 200 by 47 points or 0.61% to 7745.6. Today's close was the first above 7700, following two previous assaults on the level last month.

An upbeat trading update propelled Life360 up 38.48%. A burgeoning recovery in green metal prices boosted Core Lithium 14.29, Sayona Mining 12.5% and Nickel Industries 9.22%.

Overnight, the S&P 500 advanced 0.52% after the January inflation report contained no major surprises. US futures were higher at the Australian close. S&P 500 futures were ahead 0.15%.
