Australia’s first cases of monkeypox virus identified in NSW and Victoria

They’ve come out of Covid and there’s a lot of partying going on … with close associations,” she said.

Chant said the infection was “usually a mild illness and most people recover within a few weeks”.She said people most at-risk were those with “severe underlying immunosuppression or disease … where those people may have a more torrid course and a worse outcome”.
