    SPI futures are 9 points lower today as fears grow of a Brexit and introspection about the health of the US economy.
    Yesterday saw the XJO 103 points or 2.1% lower.

    Markets staged a late session recovery with the indices finishing well off their lows.
    Financial stocks continued to under perform.
    The U.S. Federal Reserve began its two-day meeting to decide whether the U.S. economy has recovered enough to absorb an interest rate hike. Wells Fargo declined 2.27 percent and JPMorgan Chase lost 1.88 percent.
    Opinion polls indicate growing support for Britain's exit from the European Union, boosting safe-haven assets like gold and the yen.
    The CBOE Volatility index .VIX, reached its highest in over three months.
    Over the past four sessions, the S&P 500 has lost 2 percent.
    "We're trading on the Brexit polls," said John Canally, chief economic strategist for LPL Financial. "Markets are better priced for it today than a week ago, but they are still not fully priced for a 'leave' vote." 1
    Falls were offset by a surge in gunmaking stocks as buyers sought to beef up their home arsenals on fear of tighter gun control laws in the wake of the Orlando shootings.

    Gold was ending the U.S. day session near steady Tuesday, in a choppy trading affair that saw prices visit both sides of unchanged. There was some safe haven demand amid growing concerns about the U.K. “Brexit” vote next week, and ahead of the FOMC meeting. However, bearish outside markets today—a firmer U.S. dollar index and lower crude oil prices—prompted some selling in the precious metals markets.
