    Morning all

    SPI: +25 @ 5275
    XJO Yesterday: +12 @ 5240

XJO futures look somewhat more believable this morning, 25 points higher after Wall St trimmed expectations of a September rate hike on disappointing retail sales and industrial output figures. Firmer oil prices and a fourth straight gain by Apple helped push markets higher.
Apple rose 3.4 percent, giving the three major indexes their biggest boost, on news the first quantities of its iPhone 7 Plus were sold out globally.
Data showed retail sales and industrial activity fell more than expected in August. Other reports, showing a slowdown in job growth and a slump in manufacturing activity for the month, further eased expectations that the Federal Reserve will raise rates at its meeting next week.
"These things are not pointing to the need for the Fed to raise interest rates in September. That's one of the reasons you're seeing a relief rally today," said Jamie Cox, managing partner at Harris Financial Group in Richmond, Virginia. 1

Oil prices rose about 1 percent or more on Thursday after tracking a rally in gasoline futures sparked by a delayed restart of the main gasoline line at Colonial Pipeline, the No. 1 carrier for the motor fuel in the United States.
A run up in Wall Street shares also boosted oil prices as weak U.S. economic data dampened the likelihood of a Federal Reserve rate hike this month. 1
Brent crude futures settled up 74 cents, or 1.6 percent, at $46.59.
U.S. WTI crude futures rose 33 cents, or 0.8 percent, to close at $43.91.
