This is not the forum to get into it, but;
"something we should all be able to enjoy" - We humans aren't owed anything and nothing is guaranteed. As a day trader, you would know that.

"simply went for a surf" - The sharks territory - every surfer/swimmer/bather knows the risk.

"don't need to be protected any longer" - We all know that would mean people would cull for fun or "sport".

"Is human life really that invaluable" - No, but it's certainly not any more valuable than a shark's life either...

Being able to go for a surf is a privilege, not a right...
