Stocks came off highs in the final hour of trading Friday after The New York Times and Washington Post each published new developments in the Trump-Russia saga.

The S&P 500 was up 0.67%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.68%, and the Nasdaq grew 0.47%.

It is still too early to be trusting of this bounce, said James "Rev Shark" Deporre over on our premium site for investors, Real Money. Get his insights with a free trial subscription to Real Money.

A senior White House advisor close to the president is reportedly a person of interest in the investigation into the Trump campaign's possible collusion with Russia, The Post reported on Friday afternoon. The report also indicated that investigators are shifting into a "more overtly active phase" of discovery with the "intensity of the probe... expected to accelerate in the coming weeks."

Crude oil prices moved higher on Friday, capping off a stellar week for commodities. Prices have rallied in recent days on high hopes of an extended production cut deal among some of the world's largest oil producers. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries will meet on May 25 to determine whether to extend a deal to cap output.

U.S. producers brought 16 more rigs online in the past week, Baker Hughes reported Friday, bringing the Houston-based oilfield services provider's overall count up to 901 units.

West Texas Intermediate crude was up 2% to $50.33 a barrel on Friday.

Energy shares were among the best performers on Friday. Major oilers including Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A) , Chevron (CVX) , Total (TOT) , BP (BP) , and Schlumberger (SLB) were higher on Friday, while the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) added 1.1

the week ahead for Wall street

    https://www.thestreet.com/story/141...ngton-the-focus-returns-to-fed-forecasts.html

Donald Trump is out of the country for the next week, giving the markets some breathing room to react to events outside of the White House.

The Federal Reserve could assume that role, instead. Prepare for a week of Fedspeak as members prime markets for a potential interest rate hike in June. Markets already have high expectations for a move at the next meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee, the second of three expected rate increases this year.

Wall Street has priced in a nearly 74% chance of a 25-basis-point increase to the federal funds rate when the FOMC meets June 13-14, according to CME Group fed funds futures.

"They've were very clear last time, they were very clear in the prior meeting that we're going three times this year, meaning two more times," said Dan North, chief economist at Euler Hermes North America. "They want to make sure that they're not surprising the markets. So I'd be really surprised if you heard any of the Fed speeches saying anything but that."

Saudi King Salman presents President Donald Trump with The Collar of Abdulaziz Al Saud Medal at the Royal Court Palace
Donald Trump received Saudi Arabia’s highest civilian honour within hours of touching down in the Middle Eastern kingdom.

Trump gets high praise from the King of Saudi Arabia, and signs deals worth $350 Billion, a deal worth that much had to be months in the planning, which begs the question, how many more deals are out there? How much more benefit to the American (and by default, the world's) economy will this guy be?

Not only can he get the entire country of Russia to vote for him in the American election, but he can also get a majority muslim country to honour him with their highest civil award

and yet all you will hear from the media is crap

there are only 8 trading sessions left in June, too early to tell, but if we end may where we started..............

salivating for the rest of the year

    have a good day
