Yes highlandlad.... Trading low liquidity pennies is less of a problem with HFT's.... Once volume hits them the HFT's then kick in....
Mid-caps + & small caps with volume are the area.... Personally find that trading something like FMG's size is ok...
Traders can use algo's to their advantage though - when they push shares too far in either direction.....
The problem is the inability to either buy or sell in to the market without being front run or the depth completely changing from the moment the trader clicks the mouse to send the order....
Anyway there are many other markets & trading options out there....
