I've daytraded comsec for years... works for me... I'm not a TA trader though, more so momentum trading. use live platforms too, depends what account the capital that I want to use is in at the time.
also I don't really pip trade, try more to find stocks that are on the verge of breaking out
lately I've found that short term trading makes me better money / less stressful / more time to do other stuff
having said that, a nice little DT once or twice a week works well for me too
if you've just started , my advice to you is play with small amounts, $1k hands will do
I did a few of those when I first started a while back now, lost 95% of my capital some of the time, but thats only $950
if you continue, and you start making money, in hindsight those seemingly high percentage losses are only just inexpensive lessons
