good post fluffy - i agree with most of it

funnily enough i googled sophisticated investor a week or so ago to see what the term meant and who qualified as one. It's certainly a big advantage to be offered cheap stock.

I use igmarkets for cfd's trading, not for leverage but for cheap brokerage and the opportunity to short sell certain stocks. I only use dma (direct market access). I haven't used it much recently because the small caps have been running and they don't cover much in the small cap sector.

igmarkets is $8 each way if the value is below $8000, but i know there are cheaper options. You can also bundle your trades with some brokers if you trade the same stock daily to substantially reduce brokerage.
