Just returned from having a massage. Can highly recommend it. It's nice and beneficial to get away from the trading desk once in a while especially in these conditions.
And doubly so after doing battle with ETrade this morning. As a token of "goodwill" after I vehemently complained about their service (or lack of) they offered me one free trade. After negotiating with someone higher up this was generously lifted to two trades. I asked to speak to the supervisor who rang me back. He told me that the woman I spoke to said I had demanded free trading for the rest of the year. Wtf I thought but didn't actually say. What I had requested was "some" free trades.
When I pointed out how long I had been a customer and how much I spent in brokerage, the final offer came in at five free trades. Sheesh - gone is the day when they automatically handed out twenty freebies for stuffing you around.
