I have a newbie question I'm hoping someone can answer here...

If you buy a stock and sell it two days later (for profit or loss) will it remain as two settlement dates? As in funds will be taken on +3 days of the first purchase and then given 3 days after the sale date? Or does the selling of the same stock cancel out the first settlement date.
