    Han Chinese honour their ancestors today in a festival known as Qingming, Ching Ming or Tomb-sweeping Day. Chinese families visit the tombs of their ancestors to "clean the grave sites, pray to their ancestors and make ritual offerings". The tradition has been around for at least 2,500 years. It is associated with the consumption of qintuan, steamed green Chinese dumplings made of rice and barely wort and filled with sweet red or black bean paste.
