Any time I think there is nothing new under the sun, the research for this slot surprises me. Out of New Caledonia comes the 'Make Ahead Caledonian Brunch Casserole'. Essentially, it seems to be cheese and/or ham/bacon sandwiches loaded into a casserole dish and soaked overnight in eggs, salt, pepper and spices. Sprinkle with cheese and bake the next morning. There are all sorts of variations on the web using sausage or chunks of French or Italian bread. It's a concept with all sorts of possibilities.
