Nasi liwet is a traditional rice dish originating from Solo, Indonesia. The rice is cooked in coconut milk, along with chicken broth and various seasonings such as bay leaves and lemongrass. It can be topped with shredded chicken, omelet, anchovies, chili peppers, and various vegetables.This dish can be served on its own, or alongside chicken cooked in coconut milk, telur pindang (eggs boiled together with shallot skins and soy sauce), or tempeh (soybean cake).
