OT By doing the shorter week does he actually benefit? 30 hours a week would be 5 days at 6 hrs per day? Or 3 10hr days? If hes still obligated to work 5 days a week then what's another hour per day? Whats the opportunity cost of working the extra hours? Does he have anything better to do? I'm in a similar boat, project manager on salary for 50 hrs a week, have been offered to go back to wages and do 40 hrs, but I still have to work 5 days a week, so for me I'd rather do the extra 2 hours a day and keep living the same way. if I had the option to do 4 days at 10hrs instead I would probably do that because I could use that full day for something beneficial. FYI I'm in construction and have to be available for the workers, so no chance of reducing days.
