It's Portugal Day, a holiday and national day of celebration among Portuguese around the world. The day commemorates the death of Luis de Camoes, a poet highly revered within his country for writing an epic poem extolling its virtues and achievements. Breakfast in Portugal looks a lot like lunch in many parts of the world: sandwiches are a mainstay. One national quirk is that it's not unusual to pair sweet and savoury.
