Today is Independence Day in Djibouti, the smallest country in Africa population-wise (less than a million). Djibouti sits on the Horn of Africa, a trading route since ancient times. Local cuisine is a mix of Somali, French, Yemeni and Afar with a hint of Indian. The picture captures a few delicacies, including lahoh - a spongy pancake often served for breakfast with a side of meat. Also in there are various stews, breads, samosas, etc.
