Lear00, With commsec it doesn't seem to work the way you are suggesting, even though buys and sells are both subject to the T2 condition. If you buy a share say on Monday, you will need to have funds available on Wednesday morning. However if you sell shares on the same Monday, you will not receive the funds until after business on day 2 (the Wednesday). The following excerpt is from the commsec web site (the underlining is mine :-

"When will funds be credited and debited from my account? Cleared funds must be available in your nominated settlement account at the start of the second business day (T+2) after your buy order is executed. Go to the account details page to view your settlement account details. To update your account details, please visit the Service Centre. When you sell shares, the proceeds will be placed in your account overnight on the second business day after the sale (T+2). For example, a trade executed on a Wednesday will settle on Friday and proceeds will typically be available to you on the next business day."
