We're starting the week in the Balkans with a bowl of Popara, a kind of bread porridge that is popular in various versions across the region. The Wikipedia definition is unusually vague: it's a "dish made with bread". That's likely because the basic idea covers a lot of different regional iterations. The two central ingredients are bread and a liquid - milk, water, tea, even rosewater. Butter, cheese or lard are usually added for bulk and calories. It's anther way of using up stale bread.
