I'm all for eating local, but would you really choose golden syrup over maple? Taste-wise, there's no contest, imo. We should grow our own maples. Wait... is that the big idea needed to kickstart the economy? Let's be Canada. Why not, eh? They haven't done much with the concept - I'm sure we could do it better. Just think of the positives: we'd get street hockey, better manners, Mounties, chips with gravy and cheese, a border with America, snow, we'd all have to learn French... Okay., maybe not. Bad idea. Really terrible idea.
