The star of Southeast Asia’s culinary scene, Malaysia needs no introduction when it comes to food. If there’s one item that brings this diverse country together, it’s the national dish, Nasi Lemak, which is traditionally eaten for breakfast, with a name that means ‘fatty rice’, it’s no surprise this colourful assemblage begins with just that – rice cooked in coconut milk and flavoured with Pandan, a vanilla-like aromat that’s earthy, subtle and distinctly Malaysian.
