Today is Father's Day in Germany and Mein Gott! do they do it differently over there. While we Australians spend the day with our kids, German dads dump the kids and gather in packs to drink and make merry. They assemble around Bollerwagons "full of beer, wine, schnapps and grill-able snacks". The event is rooted in Middle Age traditions. It's the traditional start of a four-day weekend - one day to get drop-down drunk, three to sleep it off. Breakfast in Germany is big on sliced meats and heavy breads. Prost!
