Our tour of Asian breakfasts this morning takes us to the Philippines. Silog is the name for a class of brekky options containing fried rice and fried egg. It's usually served with some kind of meat. Favourites include ham, cured beef, Spanish sausage, even Spam. The name of the meat is added to "silog" to give the full name of the dish. Hence, Porksilog, Hotsilog (hot dog) and Spamsilog.
