Ukrainians get a day off today for Cultural Workers and Folk Artists Day (very hard not to say that in a Borat accent). I'm not entirely clear what they mean by that, but any excuse for a day off is fine by me. You've earned it, cultural workers! You too, folk artists! This morning's breakfast won't appeal to everyone. It's a traditional Ukrainian creation called lenyvy varenyky. As far as I can tell, it consists of a dough of farmer's cheese, flour, eggs and sugar rolled into a rope, then sliced into chunks and boiled. Serve with sour cream, butter or fresh fruit.
