Most days of the year there are an extraordinary number of public holidays/celebrations happening around the world - anything up to a dozen. Today the only event I can find is the Hawke's Bay Anniversary Day across the Ditch. Today marks the founding of the New Zealand province in 1858. I know from personal experience it's a beautiful part of the world with great wine and some glorious art deco architecture. This is the view looking towards Cape Kidnappers.
