People are often confused by China’s political leanings because of their misleading name, but make no mistake the communist party has been a far right party since the late 70’s. Prior to that, China went through many bloody purges to get rid of all the leftists. Today’s China is staunchly opposed to leftism. You won’t find a single politician advocating food stamps, or housing projects, nor will you find politicians condemning the rich. The gang of 4 was arrested in 1976. They were widely seen as the last remaining remnants of leftists in China. Anyone sympathizing with the poor, or labor would have been removed from power by 1978. After that, anyone else with leftist tendencies would have been scared into accepting capitalism with Chinese characteristics.
