The ABG own 36% of BCL, but this is irrelevant. The law states the landowners control the resource and will actively chose who develops their land. BCL will never receive a social license from the SMLOLA, the ABG cannot break the law to issue it, there is a huge conflict of interest.

Also please note, the ABG currently own 36%, they aren't left with that. BCL are proposing to issue AU$6Bn in capital and take a decade to develop this mine. I have seen the end capital breakdown and the government is left with next to nothing. The Central/RTG consortium will issue the ABG similar if not better equity in order to compensate them, however the end equity they are left with is much larger than under BCL proposal.

There is a great deal of misinformation being forced into the market by those with vested interests, but the law is the law and this is very easy to determine the outcome of. BCL will be rejected, irrespective of government shareholdings. They do not have key landowner support, and that is the most important license to receive.

The situation is very clear cut, just some people are dirtying the waters to confuse people.
