I left Hot Copper for a contract job at Khe Sanh
And my shares were sold with my put options to the day trading man
I've had the ASX cold turkey
From the CommSec to the Silver Bell Direct
And it's only other day traders could understand

About the long forgotten stochastic guarantees
there were no DT hero's in the '09 GFC
now we all sail into the Santa Rally
I saw an old friend but I couldn't kiss him
He was anonymous and rather eccentrical on HC

And he was like so many brokers from that time on
Their portfolios were all so empty, till they found their chosen fund
And the exchange was often open
But the profit on RCP was never great
And their cash was held in several fixed interest bonds
And the indicies were red, watchlists long, futures green
And the hot copper posters debated where the profts once had been
But the sharemarket made me jumpy
And I never stopped the dreams
Or the growing need for my shares to make a gain
