Morning all. Thanks, Nikk0, for a few new stocks to explore.
A quick market update: a late rally on Wall Street overnight glossed over some cracks in yesterday's rally. After earlier tumbling some 250 points, the Dow finished down just 110 points or 1.3%. The broader S&P 500 fell 1.5%. Financials, REITs and insurers led the market south.
There was minimal movement in gold (up 1%) and oil (unchanged) but base metals except nickel continued to weaken. Copper dropped out of its recent trading range.
Our market didn't really buy into yesterday's US rally, consequently we may not have as far to fall today. Our futures tip an open down around 20 points on yesterday's XJO close. Of course, it is Friday and we're going into a long weekend, so a precautionary sell-off here would not surprise. Personally I don't want to carry any new positions into the weekend, with two US trading sessions between our close and our next session.
The coal miners look like they'll run some time, but they're taking their time. I'm watching MCC, CEY, RIV, GCL and FLX.
