    Morning traders.

Market wrap: US markets pushed towards a third consecutive week of gains as the Nasdaq spearheaded another strong night on Wall Street. The Nasdaq surged almost 4% and the Dow and S&P gained more than 2% each on the back of broad-based buying.

Oil dipped then rallied 3% towards a new high for the year at $54.11. Gold continued to oscillate in the mid-$900s, recently slipping towards $934. Copper led another surge in base metals, gaining 5% to set a new high for 2009. Zinc looks on the verge of a break out of its recent trading range.

Needless to say, our futures tip another strong day on the local index. The SPI rose 44 points to 3409.

Resources should be strong today. I'll be trawling my watchlists for any laggards left behind by this rally.

Unfortunately, it looks like Kevi has been benched for a couple of days after some niggle last night, so there will be no input from him today. Sorry to see, buddy - don't let the knockers get to you, and come back soon.

    Good luck to all today.
