Kingo, the market depth can be a trap, as many shares run hard on buyers coming in "off the screen", ie; buying at market. However, its true that an increase in buyers below the current price and/or a decrerase in sellers above the current price is **usually** a good sign of a run about to occur.
Buying on the open is not recommended. More often than not, there will be an opportunity 10-20 minutes later, when the price falls back after profit-taking. Patience is a virtue when trading.
