    Beechmere, after you posted a message with your SQL that finds stocks with hammers I investigated setting up a database. I think the best option if you have some DBA expertise would be Oracle 10g Express Edition which is free but limited to 4gb of data. I downloaded it but at this point it's beyond me as my skills are limited to writing basic-medium complexity SQL and I've had to settle on Access for what I am doing. At least if you get an Oracle database up and running you'll be able to write standard SQL queries and know they will work.
