Halftime round-up: Australian stocks turned higher after a lacklustre morning session. The ASX 200 was 6 points or 0.17% ahead at 3744 at lunchtime as Asian markets struggled for direction after yesterday's public holidays in the US and UK.
The Nikkei was off nearly 1% in morning trading, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up 0.4%. Dow futures were flat. Gold slipped three dollars to trade recently at $954.70.
It's slow going. Scalped a couple of points off GNS and added positions in IOF (breakout) and UMC (reversal). Roll on tonight's US session - let's hope it offers a strong lead. Feels like weeks since the market moved significantly in either direction.
