Morning Note:
•>The Australian SPI 200 Dec 09 futures contract was up 4 points or 0.1% to 4605.

•>US equities were slightly higher on Friday despite US unemployment reaching the highest rate in over 26 years as the rate of loss in payrolls was declining and on analyst upgrades of GE. The DJIA was up 0.2% to 10023 the S&P500 was higher 0.2% to 1069 and the Nasdaq was up 0.3% to 2112.

•>Spot gold rose to another record above $1,100 an ounce in intraday trading, after negative US payrolls data prompted some investor safe-haven buying. Spot gold gained 0.4% to US$1,095 an ounce.
