Um.... Does anyone care to put forward an opinion as to why the share market is bouncing up when Australia has officially just been declared in recession?

There are more long term stocks I am wanting to collect but I'd like to keep day trading to build up cash reserves if the market is going to fall over again.
I saw that most depression/recession graphs trend up then go even lower... I'd appreciate some thoughts and time frames.
My own personal opinion is "This is wierd!"
