    For the people playing at home, that was Jimi closing out the Woodstock festival in 1969 with his rendition of the US national anthem. He played for about 2 hours - very rare for him.
    The Vietnam War was on; dead Americans were arriving in body bags; the first war to have extensive TV coverage; rising doubts in the minds of Americans about whether this latest US foreign policy jaunt was such as good idea after all.
    In the meantime, far far away in Australia, conscription was compulsory and youngsters like me were wondering if we'd be "invited" to join the festivities in the jungles of SE Asia.
    I think Jimi's guitar pretty much says it all.
