Lego is pretty expensive, will agree with that, but it's pretty good stuff in terms of getting kids to be creative
I'm guilty of spending upward of $1000 on Lego for my boy(my girls didn't take to it that much), and he loves the stuff, I've bought him a big lego table where it all sits too so no issues about having to pick it up all of the time. Among that lego is an entire box of mixed lego that I've had since I was a kid it's well over 30 years old and it still as strong as an ox.
