November 17, 2015: An exchange between a frightened Parisian boy, his father and a French TV reporter has touched hearts in the wake of the Paris attacks horrors.
A moving exchange between a frightened young boy and his father at a vigil to victims of the Paris terror attacks gives a unique insight into how innocent children make sense of the tragedy and offers a glimmer of hope.
The pair were paying their respects on Monday when a reporter from French TV show Le Petit Journal asked the boy if he understood why the atrocities happened.
"Yes, because they're very very mean," the boy replies.
"The bad guys aren't very nice. And we really have to be careful because we have to change homes."
The boy's father then assures him that France is their home and they will not be moving.
When the boy says that the "bad guys" have guns his father counters that they have flowers.
"But flowers don't do anything," the boy argues.
"See all the flowers?" his dad asks. "They're to fight against the guns."
"Are they there to protect?" the boy asks. "The candles too?"
"There you go," his dad says. "It's to not forget those who left us yesterday."
The reporter then asks the boy if he feels better, to which he replies yes.
The conversation has resonated with people all over the world with a short clip of the exchange generating more than 10 million views.
