Interesting story haspete....

This started because I posted in the arvo thread that people should be careful about what they post and also things they do in the market....you can be tracked..... Think people might have laughed at my comments....

I actually remember back in the dot com days the owner of The Chimes website, Stephen Mathews, posted bullish calls on a stock called CMC Power Systems (CSY)...he didn't even own shares in the company.... The price jumped..... The AFR did a story on the rise directly linking it to the posts.....

ASIC jumped in and took him to court... He continued to post on other shares and got charged with contempt & a 3 month jail term.... Plus legal fees fighting ASIC were high.....

All started from a post and a AFR story.....

Has been quite a few people sued for defamation from posts on HC too.....

The Internet/forums provide a great freedom of speach but you never know who is watching.....
