    @locieocie Usually a good doctor/specialist will recommend a patient that he thinks will be a correct candidate for the trials- IE if your medical situation fits the criteria- and usually they do this on patients that have exhausted or don't fit the regular treatments-
    it can be a double edged sword as to take a 'study ' drug often you can be required to forego normal other treatments- which in my experience can be devastating also - but if the person has run out of options then it can be great-
