    Yup yup yup: the setting of stoplosses is one of the biggest headaches in trading. There are so many variables (time, profit target, overshoot, impending price weaknesss etc) to consider, and then you have to overlay those on top of YOUR own variables (are you a risk-taker? a conservative investor? quick trader? etc).

    Overall tho', I find that stops are a good idea in the Aus market (we have far too few Buffett-type moat/tollbridge companies to buy and hold) - dominated too much by the banks and boom & bust companies. Hmm...hope I get off my procrastinating fundament and finally enter the deeper and larger pool of the American market.
