"Hey guys, Is there a way to get a list of listed companies sorted by market cap, possibly a source that updates everyday or week?"
I know with Commsec, you can do your own searches by setting the parameters.
Go to the top tabs and select 'Quotes and Research', then 'Quotes', then 'Company search'.
Under 'Category, I usually select 'Company statistics'.
From 'Field', select 'Market Cap'.
Under 'Option', select 'Less than'.
Then put in how much you want the limit to be, ie. 2,000,000.
Then click on 'Add criteria'.
That will set one parameter. Do another for something like 'shares outstanding' to set your liquidity option. If you want some leverage, you can maybe set it to 200000000.
Once you've set two parameters, you can do a search.
Once the list comes up, select 'All', to get all the list on one page. Then you can highlight the list, copy it, and paste it into a spreadsheet so you can manipulate it further.
Hope that helps.
