    For DTs I personally don't deal with anything under $2.5k because the fees are too high to justify making trades with any less.

    I stick with 5k parcels on average, or 10k for ones I am 90% certain of.

    You have to make 4% just to break even on $1000, 8% on $500. Then you must consider that if you use $500 to make $540, that $40 profit needs to be taxed too, so you're still not ahead.

    With $5k parcels, only need +1% to get ahead.

    Each to their own. Perhaps do short term trading with your sized plays rather than DT's. But in all honesty, I would recommend doing paper trading while building up more bank before DT'ing IMO.
