    HERE'S TWO WEEKS BEGINNING 28 DECEMBER 2009:

    North America
    The FOMC minutes > consumer confidence, manufacturing data and a steady stream of employment data are all scheduled for release out of the U.S. in the first two weeks of the New Year.

    A quiet start > to the year for Canada with industrial production and the unemployment rate for December the only two data releases for the start of the year.

    Australia and New Zealand
    Australias calendar > picks up pace again with home sales, RBA credit aggregate, building approvals, Novembers retail sales and trade balance all scheduled for release.

    New Zealand
    Only > has the single data release for the fortnight with the M3 money supply.

    Japan and China
    We see a constant flow > of Japanese data over the fortnight with industrial production, large retailers sales, retail trade, vehicle sales and both the leading and coincidence index.
    The only data > due out of China on the calendar is industrial profits.

    Europe and UK
    A busy European > calendar with CPI estimates, PMI services, PMI composite, Euro-Zone PPI, industrial new orders, consumer confidence, retail sales, business climate indicator and economic confidence.

    Germany
    Has a busy two weeks ahead with CPI, retail sales, unemployment rate, factory orders, trade balance and current account data all to be released.

    Out of the UK
    there will be the hometrack housing survey, net consumer credit, PMI manufacturing, consumer confidence, new car registrations, the BoE interest rate announcement as well as PPI data released.
