Just back from doing the weekly shop ...
One of many things I find interesting is how emotional Aussies are about the US election compared to our own.
This seems to be a moment in history when First World white people are making loud noises - won't be boring.
The rise of the proletariat? Got my doubts but K. Marx might be smiling if he was still around.
I reckon computers/Internet have changed everything and this is one consequence. The great unwashed (us) now have a voice and every pent-up emotion is now being heard. A type of collective psychic scream.
And this genie cannot be put back in its bottle.
Might calm down after a bit; maybe not.
History shows us that large groups of emotional white people can do a great deal of good and harm.
I wonder how many kings/queens/emperors/czars thought, just before the axe dropped, "Jeez, I didn't see that coming."
Nothing revolutionary will happen in the sunburnt country though, unless the breweries close down
