A good example of how a large player might effect the market seems to have happened recently.
Carl Icahn left the Trump celebrations early when told that the Dow futures were down 5% and bought $1 billion worth of stock. Is it possible that that one punt started the rebound? I wonder what might have happened if he'd sold instead.
A former Heart (now gone from HC) once said that we retail punters are just corks bouncing around in a vast sea of speculation - an image I often recall.
For me, the single most important element of my evolving trading plan is how to manage losses: what to do when despite my best attempts at analysis, the market disagrees. I will probably get "luckier" as I learn more but I reckon a large dose of humility will also help
