Yep @67shelby - asset allocations for an SMSF - lots to consider. We will have a parcel for trading/investing since we are being a bit more aggressive over the next 2 years. I totally understand your decisions. I'm betting you are the investment person in your household?

As for the "self-funded" retirees: I suspect there is a lot of very quiet misery out there from proud people who have gone bust. So much info about banks etc out-sourcing their products to Disallowed salesmen with perfectly capped teeth who get the punters excited and signing up at "investment seminars". Jeez, I'd like to go a bit "Old Testament" on some of these manipulators!
