    I'm going to keep going with this chat - others may be throwing up about now, but no-one reads this stuff anyway, right?
    For medical reasons, sure, but just to conform ... my father's side of family was Jewish, so the done thing. Given that there was no medical reason to do the chop with our sons, we left them alone.

    Got a funny vasectomy story for you.
    When we knew that our second son was safe (he came out 6 weeks early, feet first - thought he was on a slippery dip), seemed like time for me to go under the knife.
    I phoned the doc and asked if there was anything I should do.
    He said have a shave.
    So, being a diligent-kind of guy, I marched into the shower with a can of shaving cream and several blades.
    Had the longest shower of my life.
    Also, the funniest.
    Lifted, parted, shaved everything.
    Came out looking like a plucked chook. The wife was impressed.
    Totally unnecessary, as it turned out.
    What I didn't expect was how itchy it gets when the hairs start growing back. Took a few weeks. No Brazilians for me
