    Mate,
We are just going through this with the Outlaws,
They are ageing, Nan has onset dementia.
Pop is struggling with the emotional drain of trying to look after his wife,
    and also himself.
In the last two weeks we have realised and enlisted the help
of external services, it became essential.
Pop no longer could do all the cleaning as he used to,
and Nan who used to also be the cook was not participating in
    any household chores or activities.
My wife got onto Meals on wheels as @Oscar09 mentioned,
this took away the pressure of Pop having to get to the shops as much through the week.
@Oscar09 is on the right track advising you to begin setting up networks of support.
We also enlisted the assistance of Blue Care for dressing Nan's foot wound,
and also for their Podiatry Service.
We just registered them in the Home Assist program,
This will be helpful in regard to maintainence and mobility assistance items ( like rail in the shower etc)
The bottom line is we are seeking every possible angle of assistance in order to allow them to remain in their
own home longer, so the more people we have popping their heads in the better.
I now mow Pop's lawn for him ( after the fall with the broken hip ),
My wife takes them to their Doctor's visits.
Even things like getting the meds in " Webster " packs to facilitate easier, more
correct administration of their medicine helped.
Unless you're right out of town,
there should be services you are able to use.
I hope you can find some of these services as the end goal
imo is to maintain as high a quality of life as we can,
for as long as we can.
    Cheers,
    Dale
