    Traders, please note the following 'Economic news' which is due out in the US this evening:-

    Market Focus/Highlights

    "Exports are a driver for the U.S. manufacturing sector and for the nation's recovery. Today's international trade data will be featured in ongoing currency discussions with China." [Source: Bloomberg]

  2. International Trade [market moving indicator]
    [International trade is composed of merchandise (tangible goods) and services. It is available nationally by export, import and trade balance.]

  3. Import Price Index (MoM) (YoY) (Mar) [ moderate volatility expected]
    [The Import Price Index released by the US Department of Labor informs the changes in the price of imported products into the US.The higher the cost of imported goods, the stronger the effect they will have on inflation, redunding in a higher probability of a rate rise. Generally, a high reading should be taken as positive (or bullish) for the USD, while a low reading is seen as negative (or bearish).]

  4. API Crude Oil Inventories (Apr 9)
    [API Crude Oil Inventories released by the API is a measure of change in crude oil storage.]

  5. ABC/Washington Post Consumer Confidence (Apr 11)
    [The ABC/Washington Post Consumer Confidence released by ABC News and the Washington Post captures the level of confidence that individuals have in economic activity reflecting respondents' evaluations of their personal financial situation.]

  6. ICSC-Goldman Store Sales
    [This weekly measure of comparable store sales at major retail chains, published by the International Council of Shopping Centers, is related to the general merchandise portion of retail sales. It accounts for roughly 10 percent of total retail sales.]

  7. Import and Export Prices

Generally speaking, a high reading is seen as positive (or bullish) for the AUD, whereas a low reading is seen as negative (or bearish).]
